I think graphics are somewhat important. For example the graphics in Thief, BG, IWD, M&M6 even MOO2 are fine. Yes many older games have graphics that are not great but they are good as they have to be. The rest comes down to sound, interface, story, and game play. These types of games are fun, I don't have to go out and by a new computer, or upgrade for every new game to meet the graphics specs. Lately instead of buying new games I have been downloading older free games from the net because they are fun and I don't have to worry about if my specs meet the requirements. Graphics have become a little over rated. Just produce a decent game with great game play.
