Red, I doubt that they would do an actual sequel of any of the FFs. Just not Square's style; they like to make things new.
Larry, which one excited you more, the updated FF1 or the new (to Americans) FF2? I'm really excited about FF2, although I would relish a chance to play FF1 again with a mage of some kind this time.
