It's entirely possible that BT-1 was part of my reason to get a second computer when that game was new. IBM's awful "CGA" graphics was appallingly bad for any graphics, although Hercules' MGC was decent (I played Star Flight in green on black). My first desktop was an IBM, in 1983. The C64 was acquired later, perhaps as late as 1985 (money was hard to come by then, and the IBM cost so much I had to finance it in installments).

The C64 was a complete setup, slightly used, and included a Hayes modem with a list price back then higher than I paid for everything. My first modem, only "300 baud". That was the beginning of my addiction to the online world (FIDO was starting up about that time).
