M&M 6/7/8 are readily avalable here in Australia, as is

I have just picked up a three pack with 6/7/8 on it
and they are available in single as well.
Have started MM7, my first journey into the M&M world,
and I think its just a fantastic game, loving it.
I have not seen any of the earlier versions around though.
What were the graphics like in these earlier ones?.
What year did the previous versions come out?.
Are they DOS games?.
