It was lacking a final boss, true, but when i cast my mind back to how Morrowind ended, i can't help but think that Oblivion's ending was a lot better. Right up until Ocato starts bumbling on. And from there on it's all pretty much the same apart from token comments from pretty much everyone you meet.

I'm still of the opinion that Beth should've given more of an option to postpone the MQ. The way it is now, you're pretty much herded into the MQ and expected to go off an do your own thing afterwards. With a finale like they provided, everything after that seems anticlimatic.

What difficulty and level were you playing at, HT? I was 26 when i got that far and playing on the default setting and i had a smeggin' nightmare trying to survive. Blocking works wonders when facing one or even two daedra at a time, but i was getting cornered by eight of them at times. In the end i just made a beeline for MD's legs and straight into the temple.

Edit: I agree with you about the MQ being short. True, it took me a couple of weeks (roleplaying, not powergaming, but not doing anything apart from MQ quests) but it seems like there were only a few stages to the MQ. Morrowind's was political and complicated and although there was a lot of "filler", there were many stages to it.
