A little Imformation about ATI X1300,X1600 & X1800
Graphics Cards from Radion.

Thanks to its superior 3D performance, the new Radeon X1300,
X1600 and X1800 models offer unsurpassed rendering speed in
their respective price segments. Offering full support for
Microsoft’s DirectX 9 with Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0,
they can run games at full detail settings even in the highest
screen resolutions.
ATI’s new graphics cards of the Radeon X1000 series are built
on the most modern and most efficient 3D architecture the world
has ever seen. The 90 nanometer production process used only by
ATI allows the graphics processor to reach unprecedented clock
speeds with low power requirements and moderate heat dissipation.
The 512-bit Ringbus memory controller integrated in the Radeon
X1800 and X1600 processors ensures that data is quickly transported
to the graphics processor. The “Ultra-Threading Dispatch Processor”
is also unique and guarantees that the graphics processor’s ALUs are
always operating at full capacity.
The 1800 was ATI's atempt to match the nVidia 7800
and it didn't so they built the X1900 & that did
just barely in some tests and by alot in others
and tied in a couple other tests.
"Basically" the only real difference between the
1600,1800 & 1900 is a few transistors a bigger heat sink
and some overclocking.
The X1600 does beat the nVidia 6800 in 68% of
all high end tests and the other 32% were in the ranges
beyond anything used in any PC game now on the shelves
or anything planned for the next few years. This was from
reviews from PC gamer, PC Magizine, and from 4 different
sites on Graphics Cards ratings.
So this above and the price's listed below is where
I desided to buy the X1600. The money I saved will help
me to buy that second card
ATI
