O.K., first off, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS given and requested, below. Proceed at your own risk. Secondly, I am horrible at remembering ES III names and spelling, so please bear with me.
1.) My character has just learned the true reason that he was selected to be pulled from prison and report to the spymaster in Balmora. (Now I know the reason that the game wants you to pick a Dark Elf.) I've been sent to the camp north of Mar Gaan, for some "testing." About how far through the main quest storyline am I?
2.) The elf lady, who hangs out in front of the spymaster's house in Balmora, has disappeared. Is there something significant about this? Go ahead and spoil me, unless you consider it a MAJOR spoiler; in which case just say "major spoiler."
3.) In Ald'ruhn, I get attacked by an occupant in a hut on the main intersection of town. Is this just the "Ashlander hospitality" I've read about, a sign that the Nerevarine uprising is beginning, or something else? Any bad effects from just skewering this tart and taking over her house?
4.) Ald'ruhn, again: I've stumbled onto Moravyn Manor; but don't want to clear it out for fear of upsetting a quest. I've talked to the widow several times (and virtually everyone else in town at least once); but haven't been offered "work" with respect to this building. What's the story?
5.) The jeweler gave me a thief quest to retrieve 4 Darts of Judgement from Eiden (yes, we are still in Ald'ruhn). I've turned the appropriate "under-Skar" manor upside down, paying special attention to the guards' quarters; and, of course, tried talking to, and pickpocketing, Eiden a few times. No luck. Where are these darts?
6.) Ald'ruhn the finale: Is the guy studying pottery really making red statues, instead? Is there a quest to be had in unraveling this? I've been trying to crack this one, but can't seem to get to square 1.
7.) In Mar Gaan, I'm told that the priests at the shrine will tell me how to get involved in battling the monsters slipping through Ghostgate and terrorizing the town. But when I go to the shrine, the priests are clueless on the subject. Is this a dead end?
8.) At the Mar Gaan shrine there is a Deadra that you can taunt, kill and loot. I saved and did it for fun, then reloaded. Is this a "good Deadra" or "bad deadra?" Either way, something tells me I should be saving this experience for a quest. Correct?
Please don't feel like any one answer needs to address all questions. Any help is appreciated. Minor spoilers are welcome; and even vague hints at major spoilers are O.K.
Thanks!

1 Not too far, still a long way to go.
2 Not important the slightest bit, maybe she just went for a little walk or something. Any way...she's not a part of the story.
3 Not sure anymore if this is part of a quest, i'd leave the person unharmed for now just to be on the safe side.
4 That house is haunted iirc, you'll be asked to clear the place once you're running for Hortator of house Redoran, for now...leave it alone.
5 The darts are in the guard quarters, a bit in the back of the room, on a bed.
6 The red statues, or Ash statues are basically not of any importance, except for one time in some quest i don't recall right now, but you'll get there eventually.
7 Did you speak to everyone inside ?
8 The Daedra is part of a quest from the Temple. Killing it now is not really a problem, because it will respawn.
