Sell them lots of items with a small value for a few days, then sell them the valuable item and buy back all the cheap items at the same time. Stuff that you can make potions out of, or potions themselves work well. You'll end up with a bunch of cheap items that you can sell to other people. You'll probably lose some of the money, especially if your barter skill is low, but you'll get more than you would have just selling them the valuable item.
