Yeah as you say I want some help learning about the workings of the game, not about how to make an ubercharacter to win it. You're right it's part of the fun to stumble cluelessly through the game at first and learn to play it as best as you can. Most of the stuff that's been said was really helpful though, apart from the bits about golden saints an stuff.

TheGrimm, you're right too, I do like playing smooth-talking healing-type characters who don't respond to everyone with furious attempts to chew their heads off.
So yeah I'll try and work on Speechcraft as Dreamer says too.
BTW, I noticed where you're from! Cool, you may be the first person from South Africa on the forum - or at least I haven't seen any so far. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Anyway.
It's really late here now, but tomorrow I'm definitely gonna play and put all your great tips to good use. [img]smile.gif[/img] I don't think I'll rebuild my character. It may not be very powerful but it works for me so far. [img]smile.gif[/img]
