Do you play PC version? if yes, then you have to use console command. enter TES:editor and load up morrowind.esm. search under book section ( i think ) for the book name. jot down the book id.
go back to the game, press ~ to bring up console command. and type
player->additem book_id "1"
press enter and press ~ to go back to game.
