The default position for your stats screen is the upper left corner of the same screen where your inventory, etc. is located.
The menus on the inventory screen can be stacked, and you can 'grab' their edges to make 'em larger. I was so pleased when I was finally able to see my charactor in something besides that teeny tiny window...
