Because to get 88 as CE you'll have to enchant the shield from 0 to 89 (where for some reason 88 is the highest possible). When you equip the shield, your strength will be fortifyed at a random number between 0 and 88.
If you WANT 88 it could take a lot of reequipping or you could get lucky and get it right the first time. I usually settle for something in the 80's.
Anyway, with that kind of strength, you'll be a virtual killingmachine. [img]smile.gif[/img]
