When you're a member of the thieves guild, you only have two choices if you want the book. Either kill her and make amends or steal it from her which requires high security and sneak.
Always ask Persius in the fighters guild in Ald Ruhn about the missions you're getting from Balmora and Vivec. He'll tell you what's the right thing to do.
