you can wear Valygar's armor with an assassin because stalker armor usability is the same as thief usability. If you have stats at least equal to valygar in all respects, you can wear his chain. However, his katana is only usable by rangers with stats at least as much as his. Unfortunately for Valygar, since his katana is unusable by thieves, he cannot backstab with it. There is a Baldurdash patch that will fix it the backstab issue by making it also usable by thieves, but with the same restrictions as his armor. So you can take his katana AND backstab with it!
