No, it's about revealing the location of the mine. By finding the ebony mine you can talk to 3 different npcs from one of the Houses and then choose which one you want to tell. One of them will give you a very nice reward.
I was wondering if that was the case wirh the glass mine too, because I have yet to find anybody interested.
