Three thoughts:

Have you tried dominating and then leaving the area? It might reset the charictor to friendly.

Can you still look through your PC's possetions after he goes hostile?

If all else fails, leave it on and unpaused overnight to advance the game time to beyond your 300 day limit. Maybey you're PC just didn't want to sleep that night!
