This doesn't work all the time, but I have successfully managed to get the last bandit to follow me into the water near the platform you've mentioned (with the corpse and the rusty chest). The bandit followed me in, got into some difficulties negotiating the underwater elements of the
very short passage and
drowned! Ha, ha. You might have fireballs mate, but you never learned to swim.
