The Rings of Theives, Mages, and Warriors aren`t all that great. It does help you out of course but don`t expect spectacular results because of them.

Use Chameleon instead of Invisibility. Invisibility will wear off if you try to open a door or strike someone or pickpocket. It is more for sneaking past or running away from enemies. Chameleon won`t totally hide you from your victims (it will conceal you to different magnitudes) but it won`t wear off when you try to pickpocket them either.
Go to the South Wall corner club and find someone who will train you in sneak. Also, if you`re wearing any armor that you aren`t skilled in using take it off (especially heavy armor).
A final tip if you need some cash for training is to buy a scroll of Odusis's Open Door (something like that) and go back to Sedya Neen. Since you`re a theif and an assassin I suppose your character doesn`t have any qualms about ripping off the government. Otherwise you shouldn`t do this because it is very erm.. illegal.
Head back towards the Census Office and look for the warehouse. It should be directly opposite of Sellus Gravius' office (the guy that took your release papers and sent you to Balmora). Use your scroll on the door and loot away! Be sure to watch out for the guard though. Sometimes he will sneak up on you while you`re stealing things. After cleaning that place out you should have plenty of money for whatever you need.
