i had the same problem once. its got to do with the way that, in your stats/inventory/map screen if you click on the mini map (the one used in game) you can make your stat screen map disapear and re-apear. the same thing works with the current spell selected thing (the one next to current weapon)and your spell list. it also works with the other two screens. your inventory screen should re-appear if you click the current weapon thingey. sorry if this isn't very clear.
