I was strolling outside of Gnisis today, just checking out the surroundings, and I inadvertently attracted the attention of a nix-hound, who promptly came at me like a radar guided missile.
We've probably all learned by now that if you are being chased by a monster and you hightail it into town, the local guard force will converge on whatever particular beastie is pursuing you, and make short work of it.
This comes in handy when you are first starting out and can be picked off by a rat.
I've progressed far enough that I don't have to run from birds, dogs, or dinosaurs anymore but I thought, what the hell, the guards will probably appreciate the break from their usual routine of mindless pacing and saying things like, "Citizen..."
So I ran into town with the playful mutt in hot pursuit, and as expected the guards converged on the animal and the nix-hound KILLED EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. (I think there were 5 of them.)
I thought, "Hmm, that's unusual," so I approached the beast and whacked it once with the Umbra sword and it keeled over dead.
Then I looted the bodies.
Then I felt guilty and reloaded the game.
