I tend to alternate quests with world exploration. I'll pick out a chunk of hte world, say the coastal area from south end of seyda need (that inlet) to hla oad on the outside of all the ranges.. the cover it an do all the mini dungeons along the way from start to finish. Then I'll go back to my notetaker program and knock off any quests that I feel inclined to go after along with any that seem to lead to that area. Then , quested out for a while, I'll go pick a city I have transport to, and explore thorugh the shops and loot houses as I choose, noting new quests in the notetaker program. Then wanting to just kill for a bit, pick out a new chunk of turf. And so on.

This first pass through I'm an imperial, Breton, and doing all those factions (ImpCult, ImpLeg, Hlaalu, Mage, Thieves, Fighters guilds). On my next pass I'll be a wanna be native Dunmer and go for Telvanni, Temple, Morag, Camonna (if available)and possibly an Ashlander group. I dont think I have the patience to go thorugh it a third time.

PS that notetaker program is the incredible Lotus Agenda, first published in 1988 or so. Fits on 4 floppys, dos text based, and the original SIMPLE stab at what eventually became lotus notes. It lets you enter text items as you run across them whilst separately building up a tree categorization structure than can be applied to the items on the fly in views. WONDERFUL for when you're still learning what the world looks like and who the players are.
