Looks like I'm coming in... I should have a character worked out before the weekend is over, unless something comes up. Now, introductions, is it?
I got into RPGs with Baldur's Gate - picked it up on a whim in junior high, read through the manual cover-to-cover several times, and absolutely loved the game. I found Ironworks after the old BG Dungeon site/forums closed and have stuck around (on and off) since then.
My first experience with D&D was actually one of Purple's games here, which is still the best game of D&D I've played in. My first experience with an evil character was also in one of his games, playing a homebrew vampire thingy that I'm sure Calaethis in particular has many good memories of. At some point I started obtaining and reading (or at least skimming) every D&D book I could get my hands on, along with various other RPGs - play experience is mostly 2ed AD&D and 3.5 D&D, along with a bit of Mage and Alternity, but I'm at least moderately familiar with all of the old and new World of Darkness line, various permutations of D&D and the d20 system, Unknown Armies, Feng Shui, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Kult and a few others. I'm currently running a P&P Eberron game (the relatively new and highly awesome D&D setting, for those unfamiliar) at college.
On a side note - Purple's not (that) scary as a DM, as long as you don't do something stupid. Heck, all in all he's probably nicer than I am... ahem. I'm posting from US Eastern at the moment, not sure where I'll this summer.
