Telryn

Oblivious to Isokla's questioning of Detheriel, Telryn accepted the leaf-plate and quickly ate the porridge.
"Thanks for that Isokla, went down just perfect," He said with a pleasant smile.
Dropping the leaf on the floor, he walked over to his sleeping "area" and got his belongings ready for their travelling today.
His backpack sat on top of his shield, flail next to that, and finally his chainlink shirt next to his "bed", which consisted of earth and a cloak.

Then he heard it.

A scream.

It was the unmistakable sound of someone in great pain, something he had heard once before...

It was another good day. The sun was shining, there was no trouble in the streets, Telryn walked through them beaming at the people peddling their goods, the cities tabard showing proudly on his chest.
"Another day over, aye Telryn?" An elderly woman piped up as she sat on a chair outside what looked like a derelict house.
Nodding, the Guard Captain replied "Aye, the cities sure feels a lot less corrupt."
"Well good luck to you, it's you that's keeping us citizens safe."
Blushing slightly, Telryn smiled and walked on from the woman.
His house wasn't in the richest part of the city, but he did have to walk through one of the "less looked after" areas, an area he grew up in.
"Help, help!" Yelped a voice, one Telryn thought sounded like it belonged to a young boy, " That man's took my money!"
Using his height to his advantage Telryn scanned the crowd to see where the voice was coming from. Locating it, a small blonde haired youth at the edge of an alley, he moved through the crowd ordering people to get out of his way.
"He ran down the alley!" The boy squealed.
At a fast sprint Telryn ran down the alley, drawing the sword from the scabbard on his belt. He turned the corner, quite recklessly, to find...a dead end? Looking about for some way of escape for the thief, he found nothing. No doors, no climbable walls, no ladders, no nothing.
"Drop your weapon, "Captain", and I won't melt it to your hand"
Telryn sighed before throwing his sword on the floor. He knew that voice all too well.
"I've told you, your boys break the law, your boys pay for it," Telryn muttered as he turned around, facing his current enemy.
The man laughed.
"That is *not* how things work around here," He answered with a smirk, "You leave us alone, I won't burn down all those you care for."
If looks could kill, then the man would certainly be lying dead on the floor.
This man was the bane of Telryn's position as Guard Captain. His name was Carron, and along with a few other people he practiced the art of fire magic, which was all fine and legal, until they used it to launder money from people by threatening to set an inferno on them and their houses.
"I can't cooperate," Telryn muttered.
"Then you will die," Carron said with a wicked grin.

A second scream snapped him out of his daydream. Glancing over at Detheriel and Isokla, he simply said "Where's Nivram, and Zakaria?".

Not having enough time to fully equip himself, he grabbed his flail and ran to where the voices came from.
Throwing himself through the undergrowth he joined in the others, just as he saw a dagger fly into a mans stomach. One male was lying unconcious on the floor, whilst Zakaria looked in pain..

"What the?" Telryn yelled.

OOC: Sorry for the long post. Probably typo ridden, but I am no good at proof reading. I've been meaning to write something for a while, and that's the form it came in. A bit of insight to Telryn's past, more to come later.

I'll let the DM post something for the bandits to do before Telryn reacts.
