Oh, don't you know? I wonder if you're just pretending with me, priest. We were assaulted before we ever made it half-way to our stupid destination by your men, and we lost the dwarf. The rest of us were able to take down our captors but for one...can't remember the fool's name...but he got away. Later, we had a chance to fight back and overtake the relief team he'd gathered but the bird-brain turned out to be a traitor when the chips were down and got us caught in the middle of thier camp ground. The bull and I fought for our lives and he was killed in the fields while I was stabbed and left for dead. A passing caravan aided me in healing, but we passed within notice of those that thought I had been killed and when they saw me they fought to kill me again, but the caravan had its own defences and we finally fought them off. The caravan threw me out, calling me bad luck and I walked home.
Now...about this stupid assignment you had us go on...it was all a ruse to get us all killed I guess. I'm just a simple man...I ain't no alchemist or anything...and that is why I am having a hard time believing that you and this temple are not a part of that betrayal.
