PS:T is a lot better than BG2, because it has an original story, and up until the end you don't really know what is happening.

I could resume BG2 in one line: Some freak want to take over the world but you kill him.

The first 2 min of the game tell you all the story. There is a bad guy called irenicus and he must be stoped. There is also the part about who is a bhallspawn (you know what i mean). I found the bhallspawn part 3 mins after starting the game.
