As for his behavior, I agree about it being fanaticism.
The tipical action of a chaotic good would be to not care, they hate laws end restraint. A chaotic good character might be infidel himself, and most likely would never want to mary.
A neutral good character would think about the well being of his familly before any law or regulation, so he would never kill his wife over that, since it is not such a bad offence as to warant death and it would create grief for his daughter.
