I think that goes back to my original post on the nature of invisibility (the one I think Larry accepted), it's a 1-2" field around the caster (covers his clothes and him) things outside of it wouldn't be invisible, nor would a net which would cover an area larger that the small field that is made invisible, whereas the dust would rest on Andrion, and fall within the invisible area. (essentially this would put the 3rd lvl spell invis 10' radius as the same effect that simply extends farther from the caster)

edit, yes I believe the powder would appear on the images, as would a net if it hit him. {further edit} the net would also presumably take out any images it hit on it's way to the real target.
