Kendel 75/81
One would think that when a spell of Haste wore off a person, that the advantage would be lost as well...but that is not always the case. The course of battle relies on perception in many cases.
The drow charged Kendel, aiming for his chest. Kendel had engaged the drow in battle when the drow had been enchanted with the haste spell, and had a feel for the speed rate of his enemy. When Kendel saw the drow aiming to charge him down with speed and power, Kendel knew that he could easily block the attack and counter with a simple spin and stab. However, one unforeseen variable was put into play. While Kynnel was running toward Kendel, the Haste spell lost effect and Kennel slowed down to normal speed for a drow. Kendel however had not noticed the change and was so wrapped up in his readiness for the super-fast counter-movement that he actually dodged and spun too soon. His calculations were off as to when the drow would have reached him, so when Kendel went into his retaliative move, the drow had not yet come into target. Kendel did not realize the mistake in perception until he had a halberd cut into his arm, turning him around with its impact and continuing to slice across his back, gashing him well. He fell to the floor, dropping his sword.
Kendel has suffered 12 HP damage.
Drow has the initiative.
