Kendel was saved in the niche of time, as an arrow sped across the room and took off the ear of the drow...which took him out of the race for a turn. This gave Kendel the opportunity to grab the guard that was being a pest and knock him unconscious with the butt-end of his blade. He hoped that the poor guy would live through this ordeal, though he'd remember the horrible things he had done. People had been known to kill themselves after coming out of such trances. He hoped that the Inquisitor could help this unfortunate soul.
He turned to see his allies rushing into the room.
"Take care of the Mage!
I will handle the drow!"
He turned back to the drow who was holding the place where his ear should be.
"Whenever you're ready...dark elf."
