Guard one again parries the attack, finding himself as the man to take the whole attention from the undead. This was good for his companion, guard two, as he was in line to strike now.

Guard two, seeing that the doom guard is occupied with beating at guard one's sword, takes advantage of this opportunity and swings his sword in a heavy side-long swing for the undead's head. The head gets severed clean off, and rolls down the stairs.

The Doom Guard, however, is still fighting as though nothing had happened, for it did not need its rotting sockets to see the enemy.
