ooc- since I posted as Lyulfe last, I suppose Liam deserves the first turn...

ic- Liam

Liam sighed slightly at Nanashi's defiant outburst. This did not bode well for his story, the true story.

"I do not know what yourr masterr has told you, but I suppose I should starrt way back at the beginning, beforre you came into being, beforre ourr family became werre-tigerrs." He settled back in his chair, crossing his legs and folding his hands in preparation for the long tale he was about to tell. Nanashi was still being obstinate, but he could tell that she was listening despite herself.

"Once, not so long ago, therre lived a noble couple by the name of Sirr Charrles and Lady Amelia D'Arrmell. They werre not verry rrich, but they werre loved by theirr people forr theirr kindness and just trreatment of the common. One day they rreceived an urrgent letterr frrom a village on the outskirrts of theirr land, begging forr help. Gatherring a small grroup of men-at-arrms, Sirr Charrles prreparred to leave. His headstrrong wife rrefused to be left behind, so she and theirr newborrn child came along."

Here Liam paused and opened his eyes to look at Nanashi. "I believe stubborrnness rruns in the D'Arrmell females," he said drily, looking at his sister. He continued on: "While trraveling thrrough the jungle to rreach the village on the otherr side, the small band was suddenly attacked by a man-eating tigerr and its mate. Many of the men-at-arrms werre slaughterred, and the few still alive rran away in fearr. Sirr Charrles, seeing the maneaterr going afterr his wife, was able to brring down the alrready badly wounded tigerr in his rrage, but not beforre Lady Amelia received a terrrible bite to herr leg.

"Hearring horrrible scrreams coming frrom theirr trraveling comparrtment, Sirr Charrles hurrried overr to see the female coming out with his child dangling from herr mouth by its wrrist. When she spotted herr dead mate, the female launched herrself in a rrage at Sirr Charrles, rright onto his sworrd. Dying, she clamped herr jaws on his upperr rright arrm with herr last bit of enerrgy.

"Afterr tending to theirr wounds the couple made camp, having discoverred what was plaguing the village. The next day, they discoverred a strrange change in theirr child and themselves. The bodies of the dead tigerrs had trransforrmed into humans durring the night - they werre now werre-tigerrs. RRealising that they couldn't rreturrn to theirr norrmal life with these new abilities, the pairr made theirr home in the jungle and took up the rreputation the tigerr pairr had left behind.

"Sirr Charrles, in his full-grrown tigerr forrm, now prreyed on passerrby in and nearr the jungle, while Lady Amelia tended to theirr child in herr hybrrid forrm. Afterr 10 yearrs, she gave birrth to anotherr child. But beforre Sirr Charrles could hearr of the good news, soldierrs sent by his crruel brrotherr, Sirr Wickham, who had taken contrrol of his lands and prroperrty, killed the tigerr Sirr Charrles. He had gotten into bad habits and in his acting the parrt of a 'maneating tigerr,' had developed a taste forr human flesh."

Liam paused again and shrugged. "So I suppose his death was somewhat justified, in rreturrn forr eating his prreviously beloved subjects.

"Lady Amelia, overrcome with grrief, told herr firrst borrn that it was time forr him to searrch forr his own forrtune. She drrove him away, and she and his baby sisterr disappearred frrom the jungle. She knew that once Sirr Wickham hearrd the news about Sirr Charrles, he would searrch and hunt down the rrest of them, especially Sirr Charrles' heirr.

"Of courrse, I did not know this at the time,"
Liam added. "It was only afterr wanderring arround this town that I hearrd about the soldierrs Sirr Wickham had sent in searrch of me. Luckily I was able to conceal myself long enough forr the hubbub to subside. I neverr knew what had become of Motherr orr you since that moment, until now," the aristocrat continued earnestly. He looked down at his right wrist. "I still have the scarrs frrom when I was bitten as a child," he mentioned, showing his wrist to Nanashi as proof. Arranged almost like a strange bracelet, the delicate teeth marks were even paler than his ivory complexion.

"I must ask you, please comparre my storry to yourr masterr's," Liam asked his sister seriously. "You must searrch inside yourr hearrt, and decide which is trrue. I admit, I have killed people. As an assassin, it is my job. Howeverr, I have only killed those who have caused grreat sufferring to otherrs, in an attempt to atone forr ourr fatherr's sins. I would neverr have harrmed Mother." He stopped talking and remained patiently silent, giving Nanashi time to think things over, and to decide for herself whom to believe - her master, who raised her since she was abandoned, or her long lost brother.

ooc- that was the longest post I've ever written, methinks :x hoped everyone liked Liam's story of his past ^__^

EDIT- fixing the accent a bit *shakes fist at Liam's accent* I'm going to forget how to spell with all of these extra 'r's!
