They were notorious slavers, and most had one or two umber hulk slaves at all times, if it had one waiting he would be done for, against one foe, he had a chance, against two foes with very different fighting styles, he would be in a tight spot.

Since their society was so predominantly pro-slavery, the quick thinking bard was quick to capitalize on this. Lifting his voice into a baritone semi-song, he asked the creature in undercommon (common tongue of the underdark), "There is no reason to fight to the death. You are strong and have great power, as do I, let us spar to decide who is greater, then the lesser shall serve the greater for a time."
