Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98
He was, while not surprised, certainly not quite expecting such an answer from a peasant beggar. Even though it was common enough to complain about a tyrannical king, baron or lord, those in more dire straits were usually desperate enough to risk the further wrath of a witch by naming her, that she might be burned or otherwise disposed of.
These, matters of state, did not concern him even if he didn't have a modding mage to occupy him. His was a higher pursuit, and indeed, the only times he came in contact with the upper class were those when he investigated the rummours of their meddling with dark sorcery.
He recounted few such cases, he worked mostly amongst the common people. There was more evil to be found there, in any case. His own greatest successes had been in neither field, however.
The hammer he bore stood testimony to that particular accomplishment.
He focussed his thoughts back onto the other. He looked to need the coin, and there was still a possibility he had some information of use.
"Tell me something else then," he said, taking out a copper for the beggar.
"Anyone living as close to the streets as you yourself, in a place such as this, undoubtedly misses but few things.
"A man came through here recently, several times in fact, and oft in the company of adventurers."
He tossed him the coin as requested, arching it to have his ear a moment longer.
"Perhaps you might share what you know of Larry Silverfall's actions in this place."
