The Underneath of the Forums – The Corridor of the Hunger
Sealed with the corridor of the Hunger, behind the black stone doors that limit its reach into these lightless tunnels, a great runestone has been fixed into the floor. Upon the stone and fixed to it by means of a mithril chain is a book. Beneath the mediocre art of its cover lie the collected words which have spawned countless angsting drow characters and inflicted their dual-wielding scimitars upon roleplaying games in settings across the internet. So terrible has the influence of these words been that its peculiar misinterpretation of the ranger class had even come to be enshrined within the D&D rulebooks themselves. Long had these words lay sealed within the Yellow Kingdom of the most ancient of the IW boards, that strange realm where madness holds unchallenged sway over all things. It was seized, however, along with other books by the Giants of Shadow after their destruction of the Drow and breaking of the Yellow Seal.
Now it lies, the Lost Tome of Salvatore secured behind the black stone doors, the words between the mediocre art of its covers still spawning dual-wielding Drizz’t clones. The angsting drow munchkins, however, appear only briefly in this place for within this corridor the Hunger seizes all in the terrible emptiness of its appetite with such strength that even the screams of the dying are consumed and reduced to nothing.
And so the Giants of Shadow are able to appease the appetite of the Hunger while their work continues along the Ley Line.
