OOC>>> Okay, mega post coming up, I hope nobody really minds… after all, I am the Queen of Soap Operas and Drama

Rhianneth

Unseeing and weary, she lowered herself onto the cool floor and leaning against the icy walls of the ‘chamber’. Try as she might, she could not stay conscious, so drained was she from the immense struggle for her will in the battle against the mighty giant. Soon, she was floating, flying around the chamber, her long dark brown hair flowing freely, yet never hindering her sight of the glowing light…

”Rhianneth, my child… are you so lost to me?” ~ It was he! How had he come in? Did she want to see him?

”My child, have you no heart? Did you not hear that monster?” ~ He was appealing to her, and she fought him as hard as she could… or did she want to? ~ ”Your companions were sacrificed for you. Do you really feel nothing?”

She bit her lip, refusing to answer.

”Why are you so bitter, Rhianneth?”

”WHY?” ~ She spun around, her eyes ablaze with hatred ~ ”How can you ask such a ridiculous question?” ~ Her fists clenched in acute tension ~ ”I wonder that I had a father like you.” ~ It was so terrible, trying to keep the contempt from her voice, knowing how much it hurt him – and consequently, herself. He was not to blame… and yet…

”You know that it was your mother’s fault, that Mistral’s mother died. Yes, your mother put in the poison in Eilonwy’s medicine… all because she was promised a great sum of money by Meldrin, that heartless sea elf.” ~ He shook his head wretchedly ~ ”Don’t you see that we are in the wrong?” ~ There was a tremor in his almost desperate voice ~ ”Don’t let your imagination mislead you!”

”You chose to kill your wife and yourself, and leave behind an orphan to fend for herself!” ~ She screamed at him, the pain threatening to choke her ~ ”What sort of self-righteous traitor are you?!” ~ She felt the wrath lifting her higher and higher, circling her in a warm embrace ~ ”I hate her! She had everything, father…” ~ A sneering tone as she pronounced the last word ~ ”She was raised by the best teachers in fighting and magics, then she won the love of a bumbling ranger…” ~ Her eyes turned jade green at this moment ~ ”… a love she then chose to trample upon, and abandon, because of her mortal enemy, Arrakis.” ~ Gesturing about herself ~ ”And even in death, she enjoys a pleasanter surrounding than myself now!”

”Even if you hate her… “ ~ He gazed upon her helplessly ~ ”What about your companions? They have done you no wrong, and in fact aided you, in your times of danger.” ~ The reproach in his voice was unmistakable ~ ”Are you so twisted now by the thought of revenge, that you no longer know when you should feel gratitude and reciprocate by avenging your allies?”

Her mouth opened for a swift retort, but something – a little prick at the back of her head - held her back. When she finally spoke, her voice was cold ~ ”I don’t need you to tell me when I should rejoice in the concern of others.” ~ Slowly, she was dropping back to the ground ~ ”Leave me alone, I’m bothered enough by my situation now without your nagging and fussing.”

”I will leave you of course, if you wish it.” ~ He would not know how the sad tone of his voice drew the tears to her eyes as she defiantly turned away ~ ”It has been hard on you, and I am sorry that I caused you all this misery.” ~ A little pause, then hesitantly ~ ”Goodbye, Rhianneth. Perhaps this is the last time I will ever meet you.” ~ She knew then, it was not a perhaps. It was a given.

Even before she hastily looked back, she knew it was too late.

He was gone.

”NOOOOOO!!!” ~ What had she done? How could she claim to love him and yet torment him with such hurtful words? And now, he was separated from her forever...

In reality, her tearful eyes opened, sending another stream of tears coursing down her cheeks unchecked. Misery contorted her pallid face as she realised that though it had been a dream, it was very likely that contact with her father had been severed from now on.
