OOC>>> That WAS beautifully done, Skye Top notch!
IC>>> Rong Er
She could only gape as she watched the mirage of colours wrapping, writhing around her soft-hearted friend, sometimes pulling him on the back, so that pieces of his flesh began to stretch out, extend and become a pair of huge bat-like wings. At the same time, the magic tugged at him playfully, so that his entire torso too pulled up, exposing his longish pale-coloured belly and dragging the lower part of his mouth so that a snout appeared. Lastly, his four limbs and tail began to spread out so that he was now beyond recognition, save for those unforgettable eyes, eyes that drew her soul momentarily...
When at last, the room was no longer spinning with uncertain explosions, but instead swinging to a halt with magic dust twinkling in the air, she blinked and looked up again to see the beast that had replaced Lyulfe.
Heaven help me, what have I gotten myself into.... Yet she recognised in herself that whatever it was that she had been dragged into, there was a curious willingness with which she accepted it. Perhaps, if she had been older, loved him deeply and promised to be his wife before this eye-opening episode, she might be repulsed by him now, regret her commitment, or faint, or walk out on him...
But Rong Er was still in the bloom of youth; she had made no rash decisions on her lifelong happiness. She therefore returned the dragon's gaze unwaveringly now, watching him peacefully, marvelling at how terribly magnificent he looked. No, she couldn't decide... couldn't before, and certainly not now. All she wanted was to stand here with him, both of them protected from the trivial cares of the world. The rest could come later.
"I knew there was something different about you, but I couldn't pinpoint it before." She spoke quietly, taking a step towards him. "To say that I'm not shocked by your identity would be a lie." Smiling awkwardly, she went on, "But I'm honoured to have gained your friendship, Lyulfe. After all the scrapes I've been through, you still care for me..."
With a sigh, she came to a pause. Looked down at her hands before reverting her silent gaze to his glittering eyes.
