Elsewhere, in the same town...Mormegil was speaking to a man that had answered a summons for an able-bodied person who knew how to fight, loved adventure, and could guard a man's life. Thus, he met a man by the name of Karthias at his home that day, and was about to pay him in advance for the trip they were to make, then set out to a particular tavern by the name of "The Crying Phoenix", where they were to meet with the captin of a ship, who was to be paid for a voyage across the sea.

"So, Karthias is it? Welcome to my home, though I regret to mention that our time is so short that I cannot even invite you in for tea. We have the captin of the vessle we are to travel upon on this adventure waiting across town for us right now, and we must hurry or be left behind. Here is the amount of gold you have asked for, and in the bag...you will find another gift that I included from my grandfather's estate. I hope you will like it.

Have ye any questions before we are on our way to The Crying Phoenix?"

OOC>>>With the permission of the DM...I have paid Karthias 50,000 gold and have given him a ring of fire resistance equal to the one I own. It seems only fitting that he would do so for his hired bodyguard.

oh..."OOC" on these forums means Out of Character...just in case you were wondering.
