Mistral
Somewhere in the daze, somewhere in the mist that fogged up her mind, she heard two words. Words that sent another bout of shivers running down her spine, yet it seemed as if nothing could surpass the magnitude of horror that had bombarded her mind since she first opened her eyes after going to bed with Beaulieu...
Mortal. ~ So these are not mortals... ~ Vampires again. Could they possibly be less terrifying than that sick-minded scientist? She could only hope... Casino. ~ She was being taken to a casino. Yet, which one? ~ Does it really matter, Mistral? ~ A sneer came to her lips ~ All you need to know is that one of the casinos around here, at least, is a vampire's den.
Why then, did she feel nothing? Why were the words hurling themselves against her brain but bouncing off, leaving both sides unscathed? How could she sit here among a group of vampires, softly giggling to herself when her safety was far from secured, and her fate, yet unknown?
What was the world coming to, anyway? Why could it not leave her alone?
The hurricane of bewildered questions continued to parry with her equally stubborn mind, while the car rounded off road bends with alarming speed and came finally to a screeching halt.
