Arlyth sighed, and walked over to his aunt, who sat back down on the bed, and pulled the child into her lap. Wrapping her arms around him, she gently stroked his hair, rocking him with soothing motions and sounds. "Go back to sleep, my child; with luck, no-one else will disturb you this night. Do not fear, I will stay here and watch over you as you sleep; no harm will come to you." Arlyth nodded, and let himself drift off in his aunt's arms. Sylquis put him back to bed, dimmed the lights and waited for Alae to return.
