Pathris looked back at Moralae as she put an arm around his shoulder. "Take my hand," he said with a smile. "We're going in at the same time. It'll be much more exciting that way. Besides, isn't that what you wanted anyway?" he added, looking as innocent as possible. The expression made him look like a little kid, which incidently, he kind of was.
He lead Moralae out near the edge of the branch. "Are you ready for a little excitement?" he asked with a smirk. He then pointed to a spot right in the middle of the pond, well within their leaping ability. "That's where we're aiming. On the count of 'jump', we're going."
Pathris took a deep breath. "One..." He turned to Moralae and winked. "Two..." Then he gave her hand a little squeeze. "Wait for it..." He prepared to jump, and he could feel Moralae doing the same. "Jump!"
