After a two weeks had passed; one day Ariaera awoke Calaethis as usual, but there was something different this time. She was being exceedingly mysterious, as though she was hiding something.
Waking him softly, she gave him his usual early morning bath, and dressed him, but the clothes she picked out were not the garb she usually dressed him in - instead, it was white clothing, (tunic, breeches, & a robe) elegant and fine in it's weave, but very simple. When Calaethis asked about this, he was told to "Hush"; obedient to her wishes, he did as he was bade. He'd learnt if she wasn't obeyed, he'd feel the flat of her hand, an experience he didn't enjoy much, especially since his deity said that Ariaera was striking him with Her hand...
After eating a quick breakfast, Calaethis was lead to the glade where he usually practised, curious that Ariaera was escorting him. Continuing past the glade, she led him deeper into the forest then he'd ventured before. Eventually, after about three hours travel, they arrived at a small spring, fed by a little waterfall. Its water cascaded merrily into the pool, sounding cheerful almost.
The priestess was dressed in robes of lavender, grey, purple, sky-blue and midnight blue. She wore a band of silver across her forehead, and her silvery hair was braided, or at least, the front was, the rest hung freely down to her waist. Her pale, ivory skin was decorated with silver jewellery; silver bracelets with intricate designs, silver earrings with amethyst sparkled at her lower lobes, and a ring decorated her forefinger; a silver starburst with topaz, amethyst and quartz decorated it. Slipping off her sandals, the priestess, looked at Calaethis, her bare feet on the soft mossy ground, her figure graceful, tall, elegant and composed. She was beautiful. Her sapphire eyes were deep in thought, but they were filled with warmth.
Ariaera spoke softly; "Calaethis dear child, remove your shoes. Shush, don't speak, just obey silently" Calaethis nodded, and did as he was bade. "Now, step into the pool child," she paused. "Remove your clothing first." Calaethis nodded again, and stripped. Stepping into the pool nude, he shot a questioning look at the priestess. Her eyes sincere, she told him, "Change into your draconic form, Calaethis." Now able to change at will, he did so; and where an elf once stood, a demi-dragon was in its place. Still in humanoid, he resembled an elf, but in place of skin, tiny golden scales glittered. His tiger-eye and golden-fire eyes looked questioningly at the priestess again. "Bathe yourself dear one, submerge completely." the golden one did so, and rose to the surface again. Ariaera knelt down and took Tagnik’zurjess in her hands, still in its scabbard.
She drew the blade slightly, and holding it flat across her palms, offered it to Calaethis. "Take your sword, child" seeing him reach for the hilt, she smiled and nodded. He took it. Holding the naked blade in one hand, his nude form knee-deep in water, he mentally sent a thought to Tagnik, asking it if it knew what was happening. The sword sent back a mental reply to hush. The blade began to glow pure white. The priestess smiled, and began an incantation. White light filled the small pool, and the golden one blinked. He heard a familiar voice; it spoke "My gift to you, My child. You may only use it in your golden form, for only then are you strong enough to use it..."
Calaethis opened his eyes, and found himself clad in armour. Golden armour. A breastplate made from elven metals; a golden helm, with wings, Chain semi-tunic and breeches; gauntlets, boots and a large shield... the breastplate had a silver dragon crest; Sssiks'barra's emblem. The helm was golden, and intricately crafted to resemble dragon wings. The shield also had dragon insignia; a silver dragon holding a naked blade, clad in golden armour, full plate, and a shield strapped to it's arm. Tagnik was also present in Calaethis's hand, it was unchanged, but it sang happily "Now we are complete! Now we must go and seek out Lord Avalon!" Calaethis's reply was one word: "Indeed." His new armour fit him like a second skin. The priestess smiled at him.
***OOC - Calaethis's armour in draconic form - elven breastplate and chain - plate is +3, the shield is +1, as is the helm. His gauntlets give 15% resistance to slashing weapons - and he can use them as a shield of sorts - a bracer when he is not wearing his shield - they ONLY give 15% slashing resistance when the shield is NOT present.***
