The endless circle of clouds that surrounded the mountain top was a welcome sight to Avalon's eyes. A welcoming roar escaped his throat, and he touched his claws lightly to the puffy clouds, coming to a smooth landing. He squished the stuff between his toes and snorted with approval. Ahead was the yawning mouth of his cave. Avalon galloped across the nimbus and into the familiar darkness. It was good to be home again...as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw the dent in the far wall, filled with books. Verloren's books, and chests with her clothes. Her sweet scent suddenly flared in his nostrils, and he turned his face to the breeze flowing in through the cave opening. With a grunt, he flopped himself on to the contoured rock, silver orbs staring into the endless sky.
