ooc: lmao at Golden Flubba.
ic: Heartless was gasping for air. The powerful blow had come from the side without warning and had left her writhing in pain on the floor. She managed to roll onto her back and catch a glimpse of her assailant.
Standing over her in the gloom-choked dungeon was a horribly decayed corpse. The remnants of clothing hung loosely in tatters around its disfigured limbs. Patches of ghastly white skin were missing over its torso, revealing the dried remains of organs and cartilage. It smelled perfectly disgusting. With a sickening crunch of bones and tendons, the zombie reached down to grab her.
Heartless screamed. There was death in the creature's touch that made her exposed skin burn white with pain. But she fought back her fear and instinctively pulled the monster down toward her, unbalancing it. In one motion, she planted a boot in its chest, rolled backwards and pushed out, catapulting the creature away from her.
Now she was on the offensive. She jumped to her feet and removed a dagger from her boot that was attached to a cord of rope. She hurled it at the zombie still rising to its feet, scoring a hit on its left leg.
Without missing a beat, she ran the cord through a chain hanging from the ceiling above her. And as the zombie closed in, she nimbly sidestepped to her favorite iron maiden.
Placing the end of the cord inside the iron maiden, she shut the lid and then casually kicked the heavy apparatus over. "It was a pleaure, handsome," she said softly. The iron maiden crashed to the floor in ear-splitting fashion, sending a shockwave of dust and debris out in all directions. In the same moment, the rope forcefully yanked both dagger and zombie up to the chain link near the ceiling.
As the dust settled, Heartless strolled over to her helplessly dangling opponent. She smiled at him and produced a dark sword from the very shadows of her gown. She teasingly licked the length of the blade and then callously sliced the zombie's head from its body.
It didn't improve the smell.
Feeling agitated, Heartless stalked off towards Shadow's quarters. He had some explaining to do.
