ic- Duo stopped struggling and lashing out at her attacker, and stared up wide-eyed and bewildered, her hair and clothing in disarray. "Oh, shadow, it's only you," she said, with a tinge of relief and disapointment creeping into her voice. Standing up, she brushed off her clothes and ran her fingers through her bangs. "Well, we better contin-" she broke off in mid-sentence, the pupils in her eyes contracting and dilating. "Come, we must hurry, she said urgently to shadow. "Find the others searching, and tell them to follow my aura. Laisrean's found Skye." With that, she rushed off, disappearing before shadow could say anything.
Elsewhere...
Skye felt herself floating in darkness. A cold, cruel gloom of penetrating shadows. "Please, please don't leave me in here alone," she cried out, the sound of her voice being absorbed by the impenetrable, opaque dark, transforming into nothing more than a whisper. Suddenly, she saw a part of the ever present bleakness turn almost gray in shade. "Please, come help me!" she entreated the coloured light, recognizing it to be Laisrean's aura. The light quickly turned threateningly bloody red and black, and she covered her face. "What do you want from me?" she asked the horrible creature. She could sense the presence smiling vindictively, and Skye felt a burning sensation where her scar was.*
Laisrean saw Skye's body shudder violently for a moment, then blood started to well up from a scar on the side of her neck, dripping down slowly. Her eyes dilated with fear, but her facial features remained frozen, and Skye's eyes still refused to focus or acknowledge Laisrean's presence.
