Syrathic smiled grimly as his blade found soft flesh. "Ah, some success at last! Finally, some real damage!" After taking a beating at the hands of the creature, it felt good to finally inflict some pain. But before he could relish the moment too much, the beast bucked him off, knocking the elf to the ground.
The elf cursed in his native tongue as he landed heavily on the ground. Many gods were probably offended in those few moments, but it made him feel better. He knew the creature was coming for him and his body was tired. All the creature would have to do is attack him and he'd be finished. At least he had spared Brendon from being eaten... for the moment.
But as he lay there, he felt a curious sensation in his body. "A spell!" he realized. "Please be healing..." However, instead of the tranquility of healing, he found his body infused with an uncanny speed. "A haste spell! Better than nothing, I suppose. It'll help keep me from being eaten, at least."
The creature advanced and attacked, but with his magically enhanced agility, the elf was easily able to evade it. He looked to the side and saw Dantes, and in the distance, two more figures, one on a large warhorse and one on a lion. They were approaching fast, to Syrathic's relief. "Brendon! Looks like we've got more help on the way!"
The elf prepared to charge once again, moving and readjusting himself as the creature attacked. "It's wounded now, so we have to take advantage. The one on that flying thing appears to be a mage of some sort, so probably no physical help will come from there. The one on the warhorse is definitely a warrior of some sort. If he gets here quickly enough, he'll be a great help. And the last one? Well, I hope she's got some tricks up her sleeve."
The elf took a deep breath as he prepared his move. "Hit and run, Syrathic. Use the enhanced speed to your advantage. Stick it with the blades, then get the hell out of dodge. Let's try not to get hit again." But his charge would be for naught if the mage had something powerful in mind. He glanced toward the mage, then quickly brought his eyes back to the creature. "What are you going to do, mage? I don't want to be fried along with the creature. Say the word and I'll charge. If not, I'll help keep Brendon from being killed."
ooc: Syrathic's next move depends on Dantes. If Dantes wants Syrathic to charge in, he'll do that. If Dantes is going to cast an offensive spell, Syrathic will move towards Brendon in order to help protect him.
