The elf hidden in the tree was shaken from his thoughts by the shouting inside the treehouse. He had been lost in his memories for a short time, and he did not notice that the group had moved away. He quickly scanned the area with his keen Elven sight and spotten them a little ways ahead. He noticed that Ruby had sat down away from the group, and the elf wondered what she was doing. He had the feeling that he still had a lot to learn about this forum.

He began his descent from the heights of the tree, silently lowering himself from the branch he had occupied unnoticed for so long. Stealth was a skill he took great pride in; many of his former parties had taken advantage of his skills by making him an advance scout.

He had honed his skills among Human rangers far from here. He was not a ranger himself, but he had been trained as a swashbuckler before he had... left... his hometown. They had shared many skills, and the elf was indebted to those rangers for helping him improve. He noticed the influence the rangers had had on him; he was now more at home in the wilderness than he was in a city. "Would I even want to go back to the city if I had the chance?" he asked himself. "After all of the time I've spent in the wilderness, the walls of a city would be like a prison. Besides, anything that I would've wanted to go back to is gone now."

He decided that he would wait for the one inside the treehouse to come out; he had seemed the least threatening of the group so far. So he made himself visible at the foot of the ladder to the treehouse and leaned against the tree nonchalantly. He made sure that the hood of his cloak was pulled low over his face, to hide his eyes. "The eyes are the window to the soul, and what lies therein is my own business," he rationalized to himself. He made sure the cloak held its dark blue hue, else it would begin to meld into the shadows of the tree, and he wanted to be sure that he did not frighten Brendon. Brendon seemed awfully excitable, and the elf did not want to him to think that he was under attack. However, to be safe, his right hand strayed to the hilt of one of his long swords, but he covered it by holding the cloak closed with his left.

ooc: Larry, you were right on target with the LotR Elf. My character is physically based on Tolkien's Elves (the Vanyar Elves, to be more precise, for those who've read the Silmarillion), so tall and slender, deep blues eyes and golden hair (though it can't be seen because of the hood of the cloak). If you need more info on my character, let me know.

Oh, and it looks like I have the strange posting time of the group, but I shall try to post earlier once my character starts to interact more with the group.
