"thank you for the wine, calaethis. but i'm not sure if i can stomach anything with that stench in here. i do have my stories. some of them before i learned honor in battle, most however are hard won battles in a place difficult to live." turning to the bar keep, she continues, "i live in a place where only the exceptional live. those who lack that die quickly. my changes...that's a story to tell. i was once a normal elf. living on athas is difficult, for myself more so. my family was slaughtered by thri-kreen when i was but a child...." instead of looking forlorn or perhaps angry as one would expect for someone who watched the death of her tribe she looked slightly at peace. she told of growing up an orphan elf among humans, the only people to show her compassion. she told of being employed by a caravan and how one small sand storm gave her more adventure than she wanted. along the way she blew up a wand of wonder and her appearance started changing there. "so after the minotaur turn mino-sect took all the hair away i was completely bald with antenae. i was ok with my appearance, it struck fear into the hearts of my enemies. when one of my traveling companion (a dwarf, no less) recieved a magic root from a genie, he used it on me. not at my request. the results were losing my antenae and growing a mane and my eyes became like that of a cat. after some more adventures we battled with a magic golem. he gave me ears like a lion. i still have my proud elven ears, but they're useless with this mane. the magic golem also played tricks with my favorite sword. destablizing the magic it became quite chaotic to simply swing. each time something different, completely out of the ordinary happened. it reminded me of that wand of wonder. my tail came about as a result. after all that, my wooden leg is really kinda hard to believe!"

she turns to calaethis, "i'll have some of that wine now, much more talking than i'm used to!"
