Here's an Item I attempted to make for BG1 before my computer died on me.

Scrying Orb

Scrying orbs are eagerly sought by many of the adventuring trade especially mages, they are crystal balls that allow the user to see great distances be it foreign lands or the insides of an enemy fortress.

Statistics

Once a day the user may use the orb to cast clairvoyance

(I suppose In BG2 it could be used to cast many of the other divination spells such as wizards eye)
