(When Illek awoke the next morning, Verloren was not in his arms, but just emerging from a bath in the river, she beamed at him)
"Good morning! You were sleeping so peacefuly, I did not want to disturb you. I took the liberty of catching some fish for breakfast," she held up Isak, 2 fish impaled upon its blade.
As she was preparing the fire, a memory that she had squelched last night had forced its way to her thoughts...
She was holding tightly onto an elven figure with shining silver hair and eyes, "Oh Avalon, I'm so sorry. My father won't hear me out, the old fool. I must marry this old ruler in a rival kingdom for an alliance...father has banned me from returning to you after that..." she buried her face in his chest.
The dragon looked at her sadly, "This does bring me great sorrow, my young love. But remember, I will always be here. When this old human dies, what is to stop you from returning to me?"
Her eyes shined hopefuly, "You are right of course! Oh, thank Torga'Nath! I will go then, and return to you as soon as possible," she pulled his head down and kissed him with all the passion she could muster
Avalon returned her kiss and gave her a special squeeze. A moment later and enormous silver dragon stood in his place. Verloren sat on his nose and he carried her out, "Remember," he said as he set her down, "I can wait as long as needed, elven love. I have faith in you,"
Verloren nodded and hugged a massive horn, then left, only to be captured a month later by the black dragon Kinn'zuwanik...
Tears immediatley rolled out of her eyes, she had betrayed Avalon! How could she have forgotten her promise! She hurriedly scrubbed her eyes with her shirt in an effort to hide her tears from Illek.
