Legolas

Despite the day's busy beginnings, the rest passes calmly. The pair spots no more travelers along the road, and Legolas is too caught up in his thoughts to pay much attention to other signs as they pass. The worry for his friend is great, but the comfort he takes in walking beside Sorsha makes it bearable.
Finally, as twilight begins to creep in, he sighs and pushes the subject from his mind. He'd repeated it to himself many times, but only now chose to believe that worrying would not help him, at least not until he knew more.
Besides, they needed to make camp before it got full dark.

As he gathers firewood he tries to watch for animal tracks and any signs of danger. The ranger finds he has trouble doing so, however, as something else begins nagging at him. He returns to see that Sorsha had done her part in setting up the camp, and manages a brief smile.

"I'm afraid I haven't been very good company today," the elf says as he tries to get the fire going. "Sorry about that. It's just... If I'd gone straight to him maybe Durlan would be safe now. We're two days from his cabin, and that could be two days too many. I... It's..."

He stops talking, realising that if he went on much longer it'd all just get more and more incoherent. Instead, he grits his teeth and turns his frustration on his flint. One spark soon grows into a small fire, and the ranger peers into it's depths unseeing.
